Canary Scrimshaw Brooch

More scrimshaw!! This brooch is made out of sterling silver, vintage flowers, tubing and a scrimshawed antique piano key. I love how each piano key has a different texture...so similiar to a woodgrain.

Scrimshaw

I have found a new obsession! I am starting a series that is influenced by the age old method of Scrimshaw. However, instead of using whale bones, I am etching into antique piano keys (pre-ban ivory).

Along with the scrimshaw pieces, I am incorporating vintage components. That way each piece is completely one of a kind!

So happiness to me right now is scrimshaw, some Tom Waits and a bottle of rum (gets me into a sailor/pirate kind of mentality)!

This little guy is made out of sterling silver, oxidized copper and a portion of a vintage book cover.

Wooden Necklace

So! This necklace is made from sterling silver, an antique watch face and a section of an antique shoe measuring tool. Hmmm. Which I guess is a glorified name for a thick ruler!

Deer Ring

Yeah! Little deer head. This little ring is made out of sterling silver and a vintage plastic toy...now beheaded.
